Many fabricators must rely upon outside vendors for finishing services. Metcam has made the investment necessary to offer in–house finishing services.
Metcam offers both powder and liquid painting capabilities, preferring the more cost effective and environmentally friendly powder painting process. Metcam utilizes a conveyorized five-stage iron phosphate spray washer to pre-treat cold-rolled and galvanized steel parts prior to coating. Aluminum parts are irridited in a manual immersion line prior to being hung on the conveyor for painting. Parts are masked and plugged prior to painting, per customers specifications. Following application of the paint, the parts pass through an oven for baking and curing. In addition to painting, Metcam offers silkscreen and pad printing.
Metcam's finishing department is recognized by Georgia's Department of Natural Resources as being a leader in pollution prevention, recently awarding Metcam the 2002 Governor's award for Pollution Prevention. Metcam was also one of three companies profiled during the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Pollution Prevention Assistance Division in Georgia.
